Micah's 11!

This kid is 1 year away from 12 and I'm not ok with that.  Our lil man is not so lil anymore.  He is such a kind soul that wants to help everyone and he loves to give hugs.
We let him open one of his gifts in the morning since it was something that would help with these cold Minnesota winters.
This boy is always cold! Hope this helps.
Last year kind of got away from us with his birthday and it never right to throw him a friend party. So we pushed it to his 11th birthday.  I'm glad we did! Back in Indy he didn't have a lot of friends and there really wasn't any boys his age at church so it was hard to decide who to invite.  Moving to here has helped.
We had a fun movie/game party.  They boys had a blast.

Turning 11 also meant that Micah would be graduating cub scouts and be moving up to boy scouts.  We had a ceremony for his crossover.

 My handsome little boy!
Love you Micah!  Happy Birthday, thanks for being you!

The Beginning of the End

The title says it all.  The end of school is quickly approaching which means "Let the Chaos Begin"
There is so much going on and coming up, we will see if I survive. . . with my sanity intact.  We begin with McKenzie's 1st science fair.  She decided to see which microwave popcorn, popped the best factoring in weight, cost, and kernels popped vs. unpopped.  24 bags later and . . .
Act II won overall.  It was a fun experiment, but I'm so glad the popcorn smell has finally left our home.   By the end the kids were all pretty tired of popcorn.  We even took bags to neighbors cuz we just couldn't eat anymore.
Next up was Micah's first Pinewood Derby.  We have a small scout group in our ward so the race was short and sweet.
Here's Micah modeling his car.  What a handsome boy.  Oh and he just got glasses, they make him look so edu-makated don't ya think, lol.
Randy "helped" him with his car.  He I mean they sure had fun.  Micah kept getting second place in all of his races, but he didn't seem to mind.  "We're number 2!"
Here he is coming in second. . .again, lol
It was a fun evening.  So glad that's over.  Between the fair and derby, my kitchen has been a force to be reckoned with.

Blue and Gold

I need to get some good pictures taken of our little man in his uniform cuz he's just so dang cute, but for now this will have to do.  Micah turned 8 in January, as you all know, and was able to become a cub scout.  He got his book in February and him and Randy worked really hard for an entire month not not only finished his bobcat, but his wolf as well and received a gold arrow and 11 belt loops.  This kid is on fire.  He was sooo excited to start working on this and we are so proud of him for what he's accomplished so far.  Hopefully Randy didn't burn him out yet and that he'll continue to do pass off stuff till next year.  This is really the only shot I got of him that evening.  He was pinning either the bobcat or the wolf pin on me in this shot.
WAY TO GO MICAH!!!!
