Latest Funnies!

1. We had dinner with my bro Billy and his wife Alina on Sunday and the subject of Peeps (ya know the Easter marshmallow chicks and bunnies) came up. Alina was talking about how fun much they had with them as kids. That they would play with them more than eat them. She said "We use to stick our "peeps" in the microwave and watch them expand, it was funny." McKenzie was listening in and said, "Mom why would you put your crotch in the microwave?" It took me a sec. then I realized that that is what we called our private area, usually I use it in the context of asking them if they wiped their peeps enough after going potty. Needless to say, we had a good laugh out of that one.

2. So yesterday was St. Patty's day right, well that naughty leprechaun came and turned our dinner green, including our orange julius's. The kids were struggling eating the food, but finally caved and enjoyed themselves. Well, apparently that stinkin leprechaun wasn't finished with just dinner. This morning as I was changing the morning poo of Malia's, he some how got in there and she had the brightest green poo ever. I think next year we might try and catch him before he turns every one's dookies green.

Maybe we will try and do this for Randy, tee hee.

Morgan's funnies

I forgot to post this cute little story about Morgan that her teacher told me after Jon went into the MTC last week. The story goes like this,

Morgan: Teacher, I have to leave early. I am going to lunch.
Teacher: Why are you going to lunch early?
Morgan: My uncle Jon is going to D.C. today.
Teacher: Why is your uncle going to D.C.?
Morgan: (with a "duh" tone to her voice) Because he's 19.

Ya gotta love the brain sequences of kids. It took us a while to figure out DC meant MTC. Her teacher just laughed and laughed. She knew ahead of time that Morgan was leaving early so she wasn't as confused as some teacher's may have been getting that conversation from a 5-year-old. It also helped that we live in Utah and people understand that kind of stuff, only in Utah I tell ya.

Utah Flash 2009!!!!

The kids had the day off from school yesterday (teacher work day). We had fun going to Ikea and then Morgan and Micah went to a friends house to play for a couple of hours and then we went to the Flash game that night. The Utah Flash (which is the developmental basketball team for the Jazz and Celtics) came and gave the kids incentive of game tickets for their Read-a-thon this year to help them reach their goal. Randy took a couple of hours off of work and joined us, or else the kids probably wouldn't have gone. I refuse to take them to public places by myself (at least all of them at the same time). The kids had a blast due to the fact that I bought them popcorn and we sat by some good friends from the ward/school. Actually the mom, Michelle, is the one who was in charge of the Read-a-thon this year. They have 4 kids also and 2 girls that are the same ages as McKenzie and Morgan.

Like father like son. Malia loves popcorn, she kept going from one box to the other to get more. Also during the game she decided the row was a fun place to run up and down. So Randy and I were at one end the Gleed's were at the other, and she had a blast. At this point the girls decided to walk around and jump on the bouncy house the Flash had set up.
Morgan and McKenna enjoying the popcorn. They are like 2 peas in a pod. Michelle is in the background of the pic. She's awesome.
McKenzie and Lauren also enjoying popcorn. The only thing I have to say is, if you want your kids to sit still long enough for you to enjoy anything, you have to distract them with food and/or friends.
Me and my boy. When we first got there he kept saying he wanted to go home, then the popcorn came, then he found the bouncy house, then he decided he wanted to stay.

Andy's in the Army now

My other little brother, Andy, (he's #5), joined the army last summer and has been in different trainings since then. His wife Bonnie Jean has been trying to sell their house and take care of other things so she can be ready to move to Colorado (where he will be stationed) when he is all finished. She been living in Provo for the last few months to be closer to family while he is away since she has a toddler that is just younger than Malia. My bro. was able to take an extended weekend to come out to go through the temple with Jon. He couldn't stay long enough to go to the MTC but it was great to see him anyway. This is their cutie AJ. Malia and him look like they could be fraternal twins. It's cute to see them together. Andy, Bonnie Jean and AJ before Andy had to head back.
My parents and Jon (#8 & #9) James.
Our little fam with the soldier.
We tried to do a group shot, thought the couch was best place for it, as you can see, we are a close loving, all over each other family. They are great.

My little bro going to the MTC

I am from a family of 9 kids (me being #4) which I wouldn't have changed for the world. It was always loud and fun and now when we get together it is still loud and fun. I love it!! #8, Jon, recently turned 19 and turned in his papers to serve a mission for our church. He is called to serve for 2 years in the Riverside, California Mission. He is really excited and since I live here, I was able to go with him to the MTC. I think I have been to all of my siblings MTC dates except 1, sorry Billy I still love you. These pics are out of order and I am having trouble getting them in order, so I am going to just have to deal with it. He likes to pose with his hands.
The kids are sure going to miss him, actually they never really got to see him a whole lot, but they had fun with him while he was here.
There are only 4 of my siblings here for this one.
We ate at the yummiest place on earth, Tucanos!!! If you ever want good meat, and lots of if, I highly recommend it.
Jon wasn't able to go through the temple before coming out because the Chicago Temple flooded, so they got to do it with us here. It was fun to be able to go through with him.
So GQ he is.

The crew who went through with him.
Morgan loves Jon Jon, she really had a hard time letting him go. Oh and notice Kilroy in the back, yet again. My family loves this pose. I think it is because of the lack of attention we got growing up (ha ha ha ha ha).
A partial group shot at Tucanos.

I have more shots that I will probably post later, mostly for my family who wasn't here. We love you guys, wish you were here. But most of all we are so proud of Jon Jon and hope he has a great mission and learns a lot.
