Last Day of School 2016-We have another Graduate!

Yes it's true!  One more has graduated from elementary school!  Micah is officially a Middle Schooler, not sure how that happened.  He is really excited to be done with elementary school and onto bigger and better things.  He is such a hard worker and loves to learn.
Mrs. Bentson was a great transition teacher for Micah.  Moving after school started is always hard on everyone, but we were fortunate to have some awesome teachers help with the transition and she was one of them.
Malia loved Mr. Eckoff.  He was great and really knew how to keep her on task.  She is our little social butterfly that gets easily distracted by her friends.  He always seemed to be able to reign her back in. Thanks for a great 4th grade year!
Micah will miss Parkview, at least we still have Malia there for a couple more years.  It has been great!
I couldn't forget these two.  They are always by my side relishing in their siblings accomplishments!

Unfortunately I didn't take last day pics of the older girls, but they didn't mind, lol.

Concerts, Concerts Everywhere!!!

I guess when you have 6 kids, 4 of which are in school, you are bound to have the opportunity to attend many school functions.  This year we've had our fair share of concerts to see and this post is dedicated to that.  I have posted pictures in the past but this post will mostly be video of each of their concerts from winter to spring. I only chose one video from each concert otherwise we'd be here for hours watching.  So without further adieu ... my children!
Here is Micah in his last Band concert with an awesome Bongo solo.

The 5th graders have an annual wax museum where they dress up like a famous person and act like they are in a museum.  People walk by and the kids give a brief biography of their famous person.  Since Micah did Wilbur Wright in Indy last year, his teacher allowed him to use him again (Not sure why) but that's who he wanted.  He had to revamp a little from his last project but he did a great job.

Right after the "museum" they had a short program for the families.
Malia and Micah joined a choir this year and had a lot of fun.  This was their one and only concert.
The 3rd graders did a talent show this year and and Malia was dying to do something.  At first she had some friends that were going to do a dance routine but that fell apart so a couple of days before she decided she wanted to jump rope.  Here is the routine she came up with.
McKenzie's Final concert did not disappoint.  The theme for a lot of the schools was Star Wars since it was such a popular movie that came out, we had a couple of kids play some Star Wars music in their concerts, one of them being McKenzie
They even showed clips from the movies which captivated little Kaders.  He really is a Star Wars nut...like his dad!
Morgan the other lucky kid that was able to play a little Star Wars theme along with some other movie themes.
I love watching my kids grow musically.  It fun to see their progression.

Fall 2015

Moving into a new home right before the holiday's started proved to be difficult.  Not having a whole lot of help unpacking since kids were in school and a husband at work, left me with no time to decorate or even really do anything fun for Halloween.  We were lucky to find costumes for everyone.  Our ward had a trunk or treat a few days before Halloween and then we ventured out into our new neighborhood.
Here's right before we left for a candy haul.
 We did carve pumpkins...
But only 2.  It was too much to handle.

We also were informed about this nursery that has a huge corn pit.  It was girnormous!  The hay stacks went up to about my waist and it had to have been about10-15 feet across and 20-30 feet long.  It was like a swimming pool of corn.  The kids loved it.
 Can you tell?
We also had a couple concerts in the fall.

Hopefully I'll get my act together soon and remember everything that happens.

1st-First Day of School

So the next few posts are going to be out of order and for very good reason.  We had a very exciting end of summer and this was just a small piece of it, so I wanted to get this post out of the way.  We found out around the time that school was starting that Randy had been offered a promotion in Minneapolis, Minnesota that would start as soon as he could.  The only problem, Randy recently started having gallbladder attacks and the Dr. found a pretty large impassible stone in his gallbladder so he needed to get it removed soon.  This meant we were going to have to delay going to Minneapolis till he recovered.  School started on July 29th and we wanted to try to keep as much normalcy as possible till we were able to move.  Knowing that school wasn't going to start in Minneapolis till the end of August-early September depending on where we found a home, we decided it would be best just to have them start in Indy so they weren't bored while everyone else was in school. So with that, here is their 1st-First Day of School 2015!

Morgan the big 7th grader.  It was hard to imagine her going to middles school, and now we are in the middle of it.
And just like that...we have a high schooler.  Not sure how I feel about this.
Malia started 3rd grade
And Micah in 5th.  The big man on campus!
As much as I struggled with many things in Indy, I was grateful for the opportunity to live there, even it was only for 15 months.

Last day of school 2015!!!

And just like that school is over!  The kids did great and even though I am not a fan of how the schools are run out here in Indy (I got spoiled in UT) they learned a lot and survived.  It's hard to believe I'm going to have a freshman!
Morgan is going into 7th! She's growing up so fast.  I never have to worry about this one and her schoolwork.  She is on top of things and always does her best.

It was Micah's teacher's first year of teaching and she was awesome.  She made sure Micah felt included and important.  He tends to hang back and try to go unnoticed sometimes.
Malia's teacher was great at trying to keep her chatter to a minimum.  She is our social butterfly which is awesome, but sometimes she needs a little redirection and Mrs. Ramsey was awesome at it.

Spring School Events 2015

The girls had 2 more band concerts this spring.  One in March and one right before school let out in May.
We had an inkling that changes were going to be made to Randy's job by the end of the school year, so the girls prepared to say goodbye to some friends.

They really did a great job and improved so much by the end of the year.
Micah's big presentation at school was a famous Hoosier.  He chose to do Wilbur Wright and put together a powerpoint presentation about him and dressed up like him as well.  He did a great job putting his presentation together.

Fall/Winter school events

Moving to Indy has it perks.  For one, they start teaching band in 6th grade instead of 7th so we jumped on the opportunity and let Morgan choose an instrument to learn.  She wanted to follow in her sister's footsteps and play the flute.  They had a concert in the fall and another before Christmas.  What a difference a few months makes in their tone.  They did a great job.
Malia also a  book parade.  She had to choose a book and turn it into a float so I packed up the little's and headed to the school.  Having 2, two and under always leads to interesting outings.
 But they sure are cute!
Since we've made a couple of floats in Utah for the county parade, we knew exactly how to do it.  Malia chose a Junie B. Jones book and she created this scene with a little help.
She was very proud of her work.  She did a great job.

This year instead of buying picture packets I bought the rights to the pictures so I could do what I like with them.  So here they are
McKenzie 8th grade
 Morgan 6th grade
Micah 4th grade
 Malia 2nd grade

1st Day of School 2014 (ALREADY!!!)

Yes you heard that right, just as quickly as school ended in Utah, it was going to start in Indy.  Our school district in Indy was not a year a round school but pretty close.  They were on for 9 weeks off for 2 week track until summer, then they would get 8 weeks off.  So this meant my kids had 8 weeks of a break after going to school non stop (besides small breaks here and there).  To say they were less than enthusiastic for the first day of school is an understatement, but we survived and they got over it.  This year Morgan and McKenzie were in the same school since it was a middle school and not a junior high.  Unfortunately for Morgan, Kenz was sick the 1st day so Morgan had to brave 6th grade in a new school, not knowing anybody, all by herself.  We were very proud of her.

 Malia started 2nd grade
 And Micah started 4th grade.

And they are off.  They all had a great 1st day of school!
The next day, Kenz was feeling well enough to start her first day of 8th grade.

Here's to another year.  Time needs to slow down, these kids are growing too fast.

End of school crazies 2014

So much happened that 1st month of McKay's life.  The poor kid was to and from school all day every day.  Not much rest for any of us and with Randy having gone back to Indiana 10 days later, it made for an interesting juggle.  Luckily for me I have 2 great moms and awesome neighbors who stepped up to the challenge.  This is some of the fun things that went on that month.
Micah had his 3rd grade Ecosystem presentation.  He chose the ocean and had fun putting this together.
McKenzie had her final band concert of the year.  She is the 2nd from the right.
Since Malia's birthday didn't land during school this year, she still was able to have her birthday spotlight and celebrate with her class.
Micah had his 3rd grade program.
I love it when newborns sleep through everything.
Grandma was here this week so she was able to be here for this program.
Micah's on the bottom row 4th from the right.
McKay survived 2 weeks.  Such a doll.
Morgan had her last presentation in class and did it on Monkey's.
Then we made it to the last week of school and celebrated with their dance festival.
Masie wanted to make sure people know she is still the baby.
Then Grandma Tucker came and joined in the field day fun.
Malia doing what she does best...not sitting still.
Micah after running his race wanting to check on the baby.
The awards assembly did not dissapoint.  Micah received a few awards.  One for being part of the 50 mile club.  He loved running during recess.
He also participated in the kowledge bowl with some classmates and won 1st place in their grade.

Then Micah was selected by his teacher to receive that Hawk award like his sister's did the previous year.  He's a good kid and always willing to help others.  I'm so proud of him and his hard work.

Then the dreaded last day of school came.  One last time walking to school.
And of course our traditional picture with our best buds.
Malia and our neighbor Audrey.  They were inseparable.
These girls really did grow up together.  It was hard to say goodbye.

The girls with Mr. Eager.  He was a great principal.
 Micah and KC.  Best buds.
Malia and Mrs. Whitaker.  We found out she retired last year.  She was an amazing teacher and has inspired so many.
Morgan and Mrs. Edler.  Morgan loved having her even though at first she was bummed not getting Mr. Crandall.  Mrs. Edler was the perfect fit for Morgan.
Micah and Mrs. Grover.  So glad we were able to have her one more year.
School's out for Summer!!!! See the joy in his face.
Kenz and her friend Melanie came to cheer on the kids.
We had to get one pic of Mr. Crandall.  We found out he retired at the end of this school year.  Hillcrest lost some great teachers in 2 years.
Mrs. Headman had to get at least one baby snuggle in before we left.

Then it really hit that we were leaving.  This was it.  Our time in Utah was coming to a close and it hit us like a ton of bricks.  No more walks to school with the coolest people around, no more late night game nights, no more...just no more Utah.  The floodgates opened when Trisha started hugging Malia and didn't really stop.
 Best aid ever!!!
We are so grateful for our time in Utah.  We never thought we would have ever lived in Utah and then stay for 7 years.  But we did and loved every minute of it.  Goodbye Hillcrest! Thanks for the memories!!!
