The "Matney's" are gone :(

For the past um. . . 4 years I've gotten to know this awesome family.  On one of our many walks  (4 years ago) the new mom was walking the opposite direction as us with an infant in a front pack.  As we past, we told her she should join us tomorrow. . .and she did.  The rest is history.  The "Matney's," as Trisha's kids call her, moved last month for a new job and we were soo sad to see them go.  Over the years we have become pretty much one big family.  Mat was one of my daily workout partners, we had pizza and game nights at least once a month (especially when Randy was in school), we went on camping trips together, went on a couples weekend, on double dates (I think there was even a man date in there somewhere, hiking, boating, pretty much everything.  When we found out they were moving we were devastated but knew this was an amazing opportunity for them. . . so we LET them leave, lol.  We had to get in one more game night before the left. . .

 And also a little farewell shindig.

 One of the many sad things about them leaving is they had this little guy 2 weeks before they left.  I'm so sad I won't get to see him grow like their other one's.

Masie 7 Months

It's true, we are at 7 months already.  There is never a dull moment with this little girl around.

She really wasn't in the mood for this photo shoot.  She wasn't grumpy, just not cooperative.  I do have to say though, she did not kick like she usually does.  She just kept her little legs all scrunched up like she did when she was an infant,

Of course I had to get one of her rolling, cuz that's what she does best.

7 Month stats:
*15.4 lbs
*2 feet 1 inch (standing up)
*She likes to play on the floor and roll around or sit with her toys.  Although she's not like my others in the rolling aspect.  My others would roll around the room, she's pretty much content on her quilt.  Sometimes she'll scoot off the blanket but never very far.
*She loves to get up on her knees and rock back in forth (still).  Not sure what's holding her back from just crawling, but we are still working on in it.
*She got her first tooth on the 2nd.  It was very easy (for us).  She really wasn't that fussy and it was Randy who noticed it right after Micah's baptism.
*She's become a momma's girl which is driving me nuts.  I like it when they prefer their father :)
*She is still working on liking food.  She's not one for baby food, I think she would rather just get the real stuff.  She likes cheerios and chunks of banana.
*She is still not sleeping through the night.  But she'll go for 5-6 hours (usually) before waking up the first time.  It's a good night when the first time she wakes up is when Randy leaves for work.
*Her siblings can really make her giggle, especially Malia.
She has been so fun to watch grow up.  I'm really trying to enjoy every milestone with her since the last four were really a blur.  We love this little girl.

It's really hard to imagine what life was like before this little guys joined our family.  He is such a special part of our family an today marked a very special event in his and our lives.  He chose to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and be baptized.  He has been looking forward to this day for soooo long and now it has come and it couldn't have been more perfect.  Randy was able to baptize him and confirm him.  How cute our my men?

His bud Isabel turned 8  last week so she was also baptized.  It was sure fun to share this day with such good friends.

Blogger decided to shuffle around the pictures a bit and I'm too lazy to drag them to where they are suppose to go.  This is Mrs. Headman, I'm sure you've seen her before.  She was McKenzie, Morgan, Micah and now Malia's Kindergarten teacher.  She is awesome, I love her to death.  Her little boy was baptized last month.

Most of the family that were able to come.  Billy and Alina were there with their family as well, but headed out before we could get a shot with them.  

It was an awesome morning filled with the spirit of the Holy Ghost.  We are so proud of you Micah.

Guess Who's 8???

Our little man turned 8 this weekend and he wanted a superhero party.  I'm not a huge fan of goody-bags just cuz I the toys break or don't get played with and let's be realistic, we DO NOT need anymore candy.  But I found some capes at Target for $2 a piece and bought felt 4/$1 and had the boys personalize their own superhero capes and masks as their "goody-bag"  They had a lot of fun being creative.

 Masie was really hungry apparently.

 We also used our superhero powers and built tall buildings

 perfected our aim (they are throwing things into a bucket)

and built up our strength to defend the world. 

 It was a fun party.

On his real birhtday, we had yummy birthday pancakes, went to church, and had family over for pizza cake and ice cream.

 Micah decided on a football cake for his actual birthday cake.

 What a fun weekend.  So glad this little guy is in our family.  I feel bad for the lack of testosterone in this house, but he can hold his own.  Can't wait for next month when he gets baptized. 

6 Months-Yes, I am a horrible mother!!!

Here she is.  She is growing soo fast.  I don't remember it being ok for her to grow up, but here we are anyway.

 Now that she's really sitting I figured I'd document it.

 Full body. . . LONG BABY!!!

 So the reason for the other half to this post title, I still haven't gotten her pictures taken professionally like I have with the other kids.  Usually I get one taken at 6 weeks in their blessing outfit and that one stays on the wall forever and then I change a yearly picture out.  Well here we are at 6 months and that hasn't happened yet and since my sister needed the blessing dress back, I decided to take matters into my own hands and do a quick photo shoot with this little girl before sending it out.  I put up a white sheet over a tall box in my room and just started snapping (almost 200 pictures later).  Frankly they turned out pretty cute and I will probably just blow one of these up or turn it into a collage and call it good.  I had a lot of fun doing these.  She is so stinkin cute.

 These are the reasons there were almost 200 shots taken.  Because only about 10 of them really turned out awesome.

Here are some stats

Weight: 14 lb. 13 oz. 13 %

Height: 26 1/2 inches 75% (see what I mean with tall)

Head: 42 1/2 cm 45%

*She's sitting unassisted though we sometimes put a pillow behind her if we leave her along cuz she sometimes tips. . .and then screams.  

*She can go from sitting to her belly and then on her hands and knees.  It won't be long till she's crawling.  

*She loves getting on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth.

*Baths are fun.

*Food is not (at least after the 4th bite or so)  She hates cereal and other foods she gets excited about and then loses interest really quick.

*Still pukes a lot.  We going to get her back on the Previcid.  We accidentally left it at my mom's in Montana and did a trial run without it.  She needs it still.

*Still doesn't sleep really well or consistent.  We did however get 9+ hours out of her last night.  Hopefully I didn't just jinx that.

*She's definitely showing preferences now, meaning she's a mommas girl. 

*She will cry and growl when she doesn't get what she wants or is "done" with her current situation.

*Her personality is really coming through at this point.  It's fun to see her show us what she wants.

Our New Aunt

My little brother Jon got married on January 4th in Memphis Tennessee.  We were unable to make the trek out there and were very sad, but we were able to spend a few hours with the happy couple on there way back to Rexburg.  All I heard that day was, I can't wait to meet my new Aunt Kendl.  We all were so excited.

 1st time Jon was able to meet Masie.

 These 2 are soo cute.
